Although this year was a little cold compared to the last few years (and a little lame compared to the last few years with our fun neighbors!) we managed to have an egg hunt anyways, and the kids had a great time (even though there was only candy in a portion of the eggs!)
I loved that Emma used two baskets (one she wove out of paper strips and made herself); and how excited Carter was when he found an egg (the big kids really cleaned up quick and he didn't have that many… but he didn't seem to mind.) And I love that Zach still thinks it's fun. Hope that lasts a few more years… it will, right? Nate videoed it this year and it reminded me how fun the video camera is – we will be using it more!
And I even let the kids dye eggs, after talking to my sister and deciding I was pretty lame to have all the stuff and not do it. We had a good time… until Carter spilled the green. And then we had a good time again after the green was cleaned up (pretty much everything survived… maybe even his pants after 2 nights soaking in oxi-clean). I am still glad we did it.
Happy Easter!
