While everyone was disappointed that the ward party wasn't a trunk or treat, everyone ended up enjoying themselves. I finally figured out the way to enjoy a ward potluck – feed everyone, including myself, before. Here are the troops after the party, when they should have been headed to bed but their mom made them take a picture.
