That's right, folks – everyone cleaned out their own pumpkins this year.  And nobody cried.  It was a pretty good Sunday evening – and everyone was happy with their pumpkins (which was good, because they all had very distinct visions for the carving.)

While everyone was disappointed that the ward party wasn't a trunk or treat, everyone ended up enjoying themselves.  I finally figured out the way to enjoy a ward potluck – feed everyone, including myself, before.  Here are the troops after the party, when they should have been headed to bed but their mom made them…

Perhaps my text to Nate  during game 6 says it all:   "11:32 pm.  Top of the 11th.   I've fallen asleep twice…  At least one of us is up way past our bedtime."   and, because I am such a nice mom (and probably not such a good one), the next night for game…

Carter woke up this morning not wanting to go to preschool.  He was pulling out all sorts of excuses… and I couldn't figure out why, he has really enjoyed preschool lately.  It was their Halloween party day – what's not fun about that?  Turns out the big deal was that his buddy Max was going…

We had a fantastic 4 day weekend!  Without school, or soccer, we:   made Halloween sugar cookies created a multi-animal house (all Emma, and yes, I had to refill the printer with paper) Had the 2011 Neighborhood World Series  built the last 49th Ln. leaf fort (sniff, sniff) And took a trip to the library…

So hungry she couldn't fall asleep – and then, once fed, so tired she couldn't wait for me to rinse out her bowl and spoon, put them in the dishwasher, and get her out of her seat.  Poor (adorable) little thing!

Found these when I was picking up the basement tonight… new books by Emma.  I can't wait for her to read me the one on the right…  it sounds fabulous.  

Our Friday afternoon adventure was perfectly described by Zach as we climbed into the car to head home:  "That was really cold, but really fun!"
