Emma had a bunch of school/neighborhood friends that were playing soccer this spring, and she decided to give it a try. She loved it. It was fun for us to see how much more into it she was than when she played in MN. She scored a goal in one of her first games, and was a fantastic goalie! She has no fear. Besides that, it was just a fun group of girls and she had a great time! She is already counting down until it starts again in the fall!

When Carter's school advertised their end of the year "circus", I wasn't sure what to expect – what I did not expect, however, was that the kids would be the circus. (I would have known this if I would have read more carefully!) It was great. The boys in Carter's class were the "strong men." Awesome.
Honestly. What's not to love about that!
Had to get a picture with Miss Tammy and Miss Lindsey before we left. They were such fun teachers, and Carter thought Miss Tammy was hilarious. She would call the kids funny names and say things like, "You're welcome, pickles."
When I pulled up for pick-up that afternoon, I was suprised to be so nostalgic – although it shouldn't have surprised me at all. :)
Can't believe that Carter is done with preschool and headed to K! Although he'll be sure to remind you that there is a whole summer first.

I got to go with Zach's class to their end-of-the-year field trip to This is the Place Heritage Park, and it was so fun. It has been fun to get to know the kids in his class this year – it was a huge class, with 36 kids! (bless his poor, retiring teacher's heart!)The field trip was full of all kinds of fun – I learned new things about mountain men and the early Deseret schools:There was a dramatic necklace rescue:The class was introduced to Red Rover (it was pretty funny to see the boys and girls start out refusing to hold one anothers' hands)And they even got to pull handcarts (a long-time dream of mine!) Zach said it wasn't easy. :)It will be fun to explore everything else there with the rest of the family this summer!

Few things make me as happy as seeing them all happily reading! (yes, that is why there are 3 very similar pictures. :) Today, Carter got to bring home the rest of his books from school and they all sat on the porch and read them together.
He has been waiting and waiting and looking forward to the baseball book since they started learning to read. Good day.

Since the weather has been so nice lately, Meg and Carter and I have taken some walks down to a park by our house in the mornings. Somehow we started a "dragon" game – I think it may have started with Carter thinking the playset looked like a castle – and all of a sudden he was a knight, I was the queen, and Meg was the princess. The majority of the game involved feeding our good dragon apples, sleeping in the tunnel, and protecting the castle from the "bad guys". (it is important to note that although I thought I had lots of fun ideas about this game, Carter was the one who made all the decisions. He's like that when we play together. :) Every time we go to this park, this is what we do! It is the perfect way to spend a morning. -
We had been wanting to go to the family history center in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for a while, and thought that it would be a great FHE activity. Nate ended up being out of town, but we had so much fun (and didn't get to everything!) that we'll take him back.
(love that we all kind of look like we've been on a boat for a few months in this picture that the missionaries took!!)
The flowers at temple square were beautiful!
And the kids had a great time at the FHC. They had tons of activities to keep the kids busy, and Zach headed straight over to the missionaries to get to work finding ancestors on Family Search. It was hard to drag them all away at the end of the night!
I love that I caught the "families are forever" cross-stitch as I tried to take a picture of Zach and chase Meg at the same time. That's what it's all about. :)

(love that Carter wanted to be in the picture and then stuck out his tongue!)
It had been almost 3 years since we'd seen our old/best-ever neighbors… but it sure didn't feel like that when they stopped by our house for a quick visit today!
After the dramatic entrance of a bee right before our guests, the boys were right back where they left off, the girls soon followed, and once Eli met our Cars cars, I think he felt at home too. :)
Every time I email, talk to, or see (so fun to be able to add see!) these guys I count my blessings that we crossed paths.Yep, I smile just thinking about these guys. They are the best.

Well, we really should have taken some before/after pictures, but all we got were ones in the middle.
playing in the sawdust (which filled those blue baseball socks and the dryer…)
And enjoying the sturdy new shelves… someone wanted to sleep up there, and someone else was more than ready to get down, can you gues which is which?
