and I have SO much catching up to do… as soon as I finish unpacking!

Good friends are such a blessing.

  • Not sure how this guy got so big all of a sudden.

    IMG_1969

This day on our trip to the "close park", he really got the hang of pumping!

He's also quite the slide climber.

And, he was super proud of this string of letters on the fridge.  (We had to take a picture quick, before Meg destroyed it…)

The kids' music teacher this year helped the first graders put on a play about cats that invade Dog Town and how the dogs get rid of them.

Emma tried out for a part and got to be a narrator that said, "The citizens of Dog Town started to realize that bringing cats into their town might not have been such a good idea…"

It was quite the play.  She did a great job, and absolutely loved it.  And we were quite entertained.

  • Best thing I read today:

"Don't cry because it's over.  Smile because it happened."
    – Dr. Seuss

    Man, that guy was smart.

(pic from Emma's end of first grade celebration.  should have found dr. seuss's wisdom before attending.)

  • Meg routinely cracks us up.  Some of her latest "things":

insisting on wearing a helmet all day long

    IMG_1770
walking around with a towel on her head (sometimes on the right way, sometimes totally covering her face.  SO dangerous!  She loves it.)

loves jackets.  makes a stink until you get one down and put it on her.  Even when it's super hot.  (this particular day was like 90*)

    IMG_1966
getting good (?) at putting on her own hats.  often over the hoods of jackets.

Funny, funny girl.  At least when we packed her toys up, she still had plenty to keep her busy!

The Friday night employees at Chipotle are going to miss me when I'm gone.

  • The kids are having fun with the boxes. (thus particular one has been turned into a car tunnel…) I am having less fun starting to face the reality that we are actually leaving…
Have I mentioned I’m not a big fan of change??

    Boxes

  • This is what my bed looked like:

Yeah, you heard me right.  MY bed.

  • And good-bye, Mississippi River, and good-bye, Lark Toys.  It's been fun.  Really fun.
