Here is what it looks like when your 3 1/2 year old helps you shovel the driveway. He sure is a hard worker! After all that effort he needed an easy (?) way to eat some fresh snow.

Emma and her friend crack me up. Every time she comes over they have a list of things they want to do – pretty much the same things every time. Today was fairly typical – here is what was on their agenda:*Mail (making art and sending it to each other in the mailbox I made for Zach's co-op preschool YEARS ago!)
*EZ bake oven (cakes, and of course frosting!)
*Paint nails/toenails (Emma taught her how to "paint your own" – sure her mom was thrilled about this – and Xan taught Emma about nail polish patterns – so much more fun than all one color!)
*Play in the snow
They managed to squeeze it all in, plus made scarves out of leftover ninja belts from Zach's party, but there really is never enough time when you have a friend like this over!

Meg pulls herself up
Carter creates sea art and an awesome octopus at preschool; as well as a very big, very cool (and unfortunately very fragile, this smile didn't last long) lego airplane.
Steph breaks out the flip flops in early January, since Minnesota is seeing record temps in the 50's!
And Zach commences giving Carter and Emma lessons in Kendo (a Japanese martial art) – although I'm not sure what qualifies him to be an instructor, other than knowing what Kendo is (I thought he made it up.)
