Zach's best buddy from school who moved to AZ came to visit this week – Zach waited for him at the corner the day he was coming to our house, because he just couldn't wait and wanted to see him as soon as possible for as long as possible.  And we were lucky enough he got to come again a second time during his short stay.  They managed to squeeze in legos, wii, and a lot of baseball…  It was so much fun to see the two of them grinning like crazy the entire time they were together.  What a blessing good friends are!

Introducing my phone's latest background:  

Love the dynamic between these two.  And Carter's favorite leaf game:  "Where did my boots go?  Can you see my boots?  HERE they are!!!"

We have had a couple weeks now of Indian summer… it has been good for the soul.  It has not been so good for the laundry, the floor (that really could use a mop!), or a host of other indoor activities.  But we sure have been enjoying ourselves!  

Carter has decided he can do the firepole.  I made my peace with that in our backyard, where the pole isn't that high or that far out…  this one at Emma's soccer practice was another story.  He, of course, was perfectly fine with his decision to do it "BY MYSELF!"

We came.  We had a bathroom emergency.  We stayed anyways – we weren't going inside, no one was around, he didn't care he was wet, the day was BEAUTIFUL, and he dried out hiking anyways.  It was a quarry hill day to remember.  

We've got to control the side "wings" somehow!  For the record, her Dad is against the pigtails… thinks she looks too grown up.  

I can't believe my kids were 8, 6, and 3 before they had their first Twinkie (courtesy of Emma's soccer coach after practice).  

They were saying, "What's a Twinkie?" and "I think it looks like some bread with some frosting…" – poor, deprived  children.  

Emma and Zach liked it.  Carter did not.   It wasn't as good as I remembered.  :)

And a preemptive nap between sessions on Sunday – yes, Nate, it's worth recording that you stayed awake for all of every session this year! 🙂

She's been really tippy… and then all of a sudden tonight, she got it!  Big girl!  

**(She's been chewing on her finger so cute lately and saying dadadadadada and Nate is ready to give her anything she asks for… good thing she can't say anything yet.  :)
