While Grandma and Grandpa Adams were here, we got to go watch Zach perform in his first grade talent show. He played "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" on the piano… and did a GREAT job. Way to go, Zach!! Click here to feel like you were really there…Download IMG_0217

Nate's parents came out for graduation, and we had such a good time. It is always so fun to have family around! We hung out at home, swam at their hotel pool (no pictures, because we were involved in a very competitive game of water polo), and made a trip to the National Eagle Center in Wabasha on the banks of the Mississippi – SO beautiful. The only bad part is that trip went by so fast! Here are a few pictures of our fun…
Grandpa Adams entertaining everyone with "You put the lime in the coconut…"
Closer to the real eagle than I wanted to be…
It was so beautiful, and the perfect day out there. Thanks for coming, guys! We had such a great time!! -
Carter and I both fell asleep sometime around 7 last night… and 12 hours later, I am barely awake and he is still sleeping sweetly in his bed (as he has ALL night!) What a blessing… we both needed a good night's sleep. (I had to take this picture last week when he fell asleep in the middle of his book at naptime.) -

This bear was my sole motivation to get Carter into the car to take Emma to preschool (okay, that and "crazy dancing man" at the corner apartments). He hugged the big, germy thing every single time we went. And every day on the way out from dropping her off, he'd say, "See you after my nap, Bear!" What would I have done without it? -
Emma's start to preschool was rocky. She cried every time I dropped her off for several weeks, and I would watch from the windows feeling so bad… until one day a sweet girl and her mom walked onto the playground at the same time, and as I handed my sad Emma off to her teacher, this sweet mom stayed on the playground for a few minutes, got her daughter and Emma to go down the slide together a few times, and everything changed. Emma and Samantha became inseparable at preschool, and the cutest of friends. Right after I took this picture and gave her a hug to leave on the last day, Emma burst into tears… not sad to be at school, but sad that school was ending, thanks to Sam. -
The kids think it is SO cool when they get to ride in Dad's car. Usually it is just the big kids heading off with Nate while Carter cries at the back door, but today Carter got his first ride in "Daddy's car". He was thrilled. His parents would have been more excited if the reason for the ride wasn't a new fuel pump for Mom's car. At least someone came out a winner, right? -

In the height of the Star Wars craze, I wondered if anything would ever take its place and we would ever make it out of that galaxy far, far away. True to form, however, Zach's obsession has shifted once again… and with the onset of baseball season, it is back to baseball. Taking everyone in the family with him, of course.AND… the onset of warmer weather means… campfires! This one was especially useful, as we used it not only to roast mallows, but also to burn things that would have taken several much-less-enjoyable hours to shred. As a side note, we discovered that Carter likes watermelon as much as Emma.

What's not to love about big trucks that you can climb in, climb on, and honk the horn? Something the kids look forward to all year. The highlight for the boys was the incident command center, for Emma it was getting a sucker in the ice cream truck (imagine that!) and Carter drug poor Lyndsee around by the hand wanting to see all the trucks but never wait in the lines (so the taxi, with no line, was just right.) Until next year, transportation fair!
