Apparently not – even if it's not very fancy. This was our best attempt (yes, Emma playing with her gum and wearing rainboots under the dress.) And this wasn't even Easter… Emma was the only one who wore her "Easter clothes" during conference (sans the boots). But we won't have a year without an Easter picture… at least not on my watch. -

The troops with their loot… such a fun group of friends.
I don't have a picture of Emma from the egg hunt where she's NOT running. She was so excited. And VERY concerned that she end up with the most eggs. Funny girl.
Carter seemed a little confused at first, but got into it after a while… and he his happiest moments since have been sitting on the floor with a pile of eggs in his lap, unwrapping and eating.
And a picture of the boys, after Henry's dad convinced them to pose for a photo. Zach was the least concerned about the egg quota, and was happiest when he traded Emma during conference all his non-chocolate treats for hershey kisses and chocolate eggs.We ended the egg hunt with a high-intensity soccer game around the "sold" sign in the neighbor's front yard… noone paying much attention to the sign until Emma ran right into it (and bounced right off…) blissful ignorance of what must shortly come to pass. If you ask Emma about the game, she will tell you about her great goalie save… that's my girl!

Spring break this year was more like summer break, with temperatures in the 70's and even in the 80's one day! We had a great time outside, living it up with our friends who will be moving this summer.
Emma, getting ready to jump in… she has been waiting for this since the first sunny, snow-less day! (As you might be able to tell, Zach wasn't so sure 72* was warm enough..)
Carter, after he dove in headfirst (not realizing the pool finally had water in it) in all of his clothes. The screaming was replaced surprisingly quickly by a smile!
And Emma, with the crazy dancing sprinkler that finally bit the dust. She wanted to keep it in her room as a decoration… we compromised by taking a picture of her with it that she can hang up.BEST. SPRING. BREAK. EVER.

One year – when Emma was about Carter's age – I let her wash all of our new plastic eggs in the sink. Of course she loved it, and of course I forgot about it. This year, we had bought a couple of new packages (because I had thrown so many away over the past year when I was sick of cleaning them up from the shopping cart) and the next morning, while I was in making the bed, I heard Zach say, "hey, do you want to wash the eggs?" and by the time I got to the kitchen, they were underway… chairs put up to the sink, water pooled on the floor, and having so much fun I dug out all the eggs I could find and they washed the morning away. It was such a peaceful, happy morning. I think we'll make it a tradition! -
