Part of our spring break to-do list was hiking Ensign Peak, and luckily, spring break had a great spring day for us to do it!
I've always loved hiking Ensign Peak, having read as a kid the story of my great-great-grandpa hiking it from his journal (when he figured, once he got to the top, that his hike was going to make him late for church… 🙂
The hike was just the right length, and everyone made sure to bring their binoculars to enjoy the view at the top.
Yes, Meg and I were there too… and it was really windy!!
And, Zach thought he spotted some eagles flying over the mountain… and Meg was sure the radio towers (or whatever they are) were the "eagles" he was talking about, and kept pointing them out for the rest of the hike. :)
In the interest of full disclosure, the summit was really the best part of the experience – after that, well, you could say it was all downhill from there. :)
But, we all recovered and ended up making a nice afternoon of it with a picnic at Liberty Park.
