I did not realize when I offered to take my mom out for a birthday lunch that:

1. My kids got out early that Thursday so all of them would be joining us

2. The place I chose to take her to – while highly recommended – had no eat-in seating.  

Gratefully, it was a beautiful day for the end of November, and we ate outside on a nearby church lawn enjoying the warm sun and some of those huge seed pods that I haven't seen in years (and that fascinated my kids.)

It may not have been the nice lunch my mom deserved, but it was a fun, memorable adventure!
